Getting started with PagePocket

Install the PagePocket extension for Chrome, create your free account, and save your first web page to your private, searchable archive.

PagePocket saves full-fidelity copies of web pages to a private cloud library you can search and share. This guide takes you from install to your first saved page in a few minutes.

1. Install the extension

PagePocket ships as a Chrome extension. Install it from the Chrome Web Store by clicking Add to Chrome. After the first install the side panel opens automatically; from then on you can open it from the extension's icon in the toolbar.

The panel is where saves happen — it reads the page you have open and stages the capture before anything is stored.

2. Create your account

You need an account to use the cloud library. You can create one in either place — both are the same account:

  • On the website at the registration page: email and password, no credit card.
  • In the extension: open the side panel, tick PagePocket Cloud Storage, and use the Register tab.

The Free plan covers 50 page saves per rolling 30 days and 500 MB of storage, and includes search, collections, and share links. You can upgrade later — see Pricing for the exact limits.

3. Save your first page

  1. Open any web page you want to keep.
  2. Open the PagePocket side panel.
  3. Make sure PagePocket Cloud Storage is ticked and you are signed in.
  4. Click Start download.

The panel walks through the capture for you — scraping the page, uploading its resources, and assembling the copy in your library. When it reports Ready, the page is in your library.

Two practical tips learned the hard way:

  • Keep the side panel open and stay on the tab while the save runs. Closing the panel or navigating away can abort the capture.
  • Pages that load content as you scroll are captured by scrolling the page automatically, but very long pages can take a little while.

4. Find it in your library

Open the app and sign in — every saved page is there, listed with its title, the original URL, and the time you saved it. From the library you can:

Download a saved page

Any page in your library can be downloaded as a ZIP:

  1. Open the page in the viewer (or use the ⋯ menu on a dashboard card).
  2. Click Download (or press d in the viewer).

You get a single .zip containing index.html and every asset, with the same relative paths the viewer uses — unzip it anywhere and index.html opens offline in your browser. Two things to know: the download is a static snapshot (scripts never run in archived pages, so they are not in the ZIP either), and downloading does not count against your monthly save quota — it is a plain read of your own archive.

Frequently asked questions

What does PagePocket cost?
The Free plan covers 50 page saves per rolling 30 days with 500 MB of storage — no credit card required. Search, collections, and share links are included. Pro is $2/month (billed yearly, $24/yr) when you need a bigger library: more saves and 10 GB of storage.
Do the people I share with need an account?
No. Anyone with your share link can open the saved page — no PagePocket account, no sign-up. Until you create a share link, your library is visible only to you.
Can I read my saved pages offline?
Opening a saved page in the viewer needs a connection — that is what makes it available on every device you sign in from. But you can download any saved page as a ZIP from your dashboard (viewer toolbar or page menu) and read that copy offline. You can also export a copy to your computer as a ZIP or single-file HTML at save time by turning cloud storage off in the extension panel.
Is PagePocket available for Firefox or Edge?
Currently PagePocket ships as a Chrome extension, installable from the Chrome Web Store. The library itself is a website, so saved pages can be read and shared from any modern browser.
