Sharing saved pages
Share any saved page with a link: expiry options, view counts, revoking access, and what recipients see — no account required.
Last updated
Your library is private by default — nothing is visible to anyone else until you share it. When you do, a share link serves the archived copy itself, so the recipient sees exactly what you saved, not whatever the live page says today.
Creating a link
Open a saved page and choose Share. Pick an expiry, then create the link:
- Never — the link works until you revoke it.
- 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days — the link stops working automatically after that window.
- Custom date — pick the exact day it should expire.
The full URL is shown once, at creation — copy it there. For security, the link's secret is not stored in a form the app can re-reveal later; if you lose it, simply create a new link. Your share dialog always shows whether a link is active.
What recipients see
Anyone with the link can open the archived page in their browser — no PagePocket account, no sign-up. The page is the archived copy, rendered in the same sandboxed viewer you use, under a "Shared via PagePocket" banner. Its scripts never run, for you or for them.
Share links use unguessable tokens, and the link serves only that one page — not your library, not your other saves.
View counts and revoking
The share dialog shows how many views a link has had (repeated opens by the same visitor are counted once), so you know whether a shared snapshot has been seen.
Revoke removes access immediately — the link stops resolving, including for people who saved it. Nothing is deleted from your library; revoking only retires the link. Recreate one at any time.
When a shared link dies on its own
A share link stops working when any of these happens:
- you revoked it,
- its expiry date passed, or
- the saved page was deleted from your library. A share is a window onto your archived copy — there is nothing to serve once the page is gone.
If you are handing someone a link that must keep working, pick Never as the expiry and keep the page in your library.
